Papa Lee Leroy J Seckinger, age 80, died Saturday, March 23, 2019 in Henderson, Nevada. He was born February 6, 1939 in Las Vegas, Nevada to Clyde Leroy and Alice Lee Seckinger. On November 15, 1980 he married Delores Florence Maye in Overton, Nevada.

They were lovingly married for 38 years. She preceded him in death on May 4, 2017. Papa Lee lived most of his life in Overton.

He started working as a tire repairman for Sears right out of high school. He was so dependable and hard working that he was asked to open a new store in Alaska. After living in Alaska for a few years, he moved back to Las Vegas and later to Overton, working as a repairman for Sears.

He could fix anything! After retiring from Sears, he worked as a maintenance technician at the Reid Gardner Power Plant. Everyone loved to be around Papa Lee.

He had a great love for the outdoors and being with people, fishing, boating, riding motorcycles, bowling, hunting, restoring old cars and giving the grand kids rides in the lawn mower wagon. He was quick to laugh and easy to be around. He will lovingly be remembered as Papa Lee.

Survivors include two daughters: Leisa (Eduardo) Rodriguez of San Diego, CA; Lorrie (Mike Hanley) Beiderman of Overton, NV; two step daughters and one step son: Evelyn Santos of Mesquite, NV, Cynthia (Andrew) Copening of Palm Harbor, FL, Rico Mendez of Mesquite, NV; 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; three sisters and one brother: Janet (Robert) Hutchings of Provo, UT, Steven “Reno” Seckinger of Overton, Penny (Robert) Reber of Enterprise, UT, Deanna Johnston of Billings, MT. He is preceded in death by his parents: Clyde and Alice; his son Vincent; one sister, Clydie Clayson and one brother, Simon. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 29, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Moapa Valley Mortuary.

Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the services at the mortuary. Interment will follow in the Logandale Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to sign our online guestbook at www.
