July 27th 1928 – December 5th 2018 Lee Blair, 90, passed away peacefully at his home in Albany, Oregon on December 5th 2018. Born to Lowell and Edna (Colwell) Blair in Amboy Washington, Lee spent most of his life in the Willamette Valley area. He graduated from Sheridan High School in 1948, where he met and fell in love with his high school sweetheart, Betty Freeman.

The couple were married March 12th 1949, they would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this coming March. Lee and Betty together had three daughters. Lee joined the Navy in 1949.

Lee began working in the woods logging with his father at an age too young to legally receive a paycheck. The couple raised their family on a wheat and cattle farm outside Sheridan, Oregon. Lee while always a hard worker, also loved to play and in his day was an avid motorcycle rider, loved to canoe, hunt, camp and go fishing with family and friends.

Some of the most cherished memories are friends and family gatherings together over Sunday dinners after church. Lee was a Christian and served the Lord throughout his life. Lee is survived by his wife of 70 years, Betty Blair and his daughters Bev and Jim Fowler, Barb and John Eaton, Linda and Russ Peissig all of Alaska.

He is also survived by his grandchildren Bruce Weis, Joshua Kluting, Aaron Nichols, Jessie Nichols, and Malachi Kahler, as well as his great granddaughter Zoëanne Kahler. He is preceded in death by his parents, and Brother Cleo, Sister Edith, and Brother Gene. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 12th 2018 at 1:30 pm at Riverside Baptist Church in Albany.

Lee will be interred at Willamette National Cemetery.
