Leldon’s Obituary Leldon Edward Cox passed away January 22, 2019 at TMC in Denison after suffering from a brain hemorrhage earlier in the day at his home. He was born April 9, 1939 in Bonham, Texas to Glendon Edward Cox and Laudean Joines Cox. He attended all Bonham schools and was a 1957 graduate of Bonham High School.

He married Barbara Ann Bostic in Bonham on November 6, 1959. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Laudean; daughter-in-law and the mother of Colton and Caitlin, Rea Ann Cox; cousins Willis Walker, Joe Parker, and Press Cox. He is survived by Barbara, his wife of 59 years; son Chuck Cox and wife Cheryl, of Aledo; grandson Clayton Cox, wife Cassandra and great granddaughters Carsyn and Colbi, of Glen Rose; grandson Caleb Cox, of Aledo; granddaughter Callie Hissam, husband Jonathan, and great grandchildren Hazel and Jasper, of Grand Prairie; son Vince Cox and wife Holley, of Sandusky; grandson Colton Cox, of Denison; granddaughter Caitlin Cox, of Sherman; granddaughter Allysa Gallaway, husband David, and great grandchildren Victoria, Gracie, Emma, and David Jr., of Denison; grandson John Acker and family, of Denison; grandson Dakota Acker, and family, of Denison; daughter Athena Chaney, husband Ricky, and grandchildren Alyssa and Ridge, of Melissa.

Leldon was a graduate of East Texas State University where he earned a business degree with an emphasis in finance. He began his career at General Cable in 1961, retired after 41 years as senior accountant, and continued with the company on a contractual basis another three years until the plant closed its doors. Leldon joined 7th & Main Baptist Church in 1959 and served many years there as deacon, Sunday school teacher, youth activity volunteer, and security.

He served as Boy Scout troop leader during the 1970s. He was a godly man who looked forward to the return of Christ and firmly believed that our world today is in the last days of the end times. Visitation will be 6-8PM Friday, January 25 at Wise Funeral Home in Bonham.

The funeral ceremony will be held 2PM Saturday at Wise Funeral Home Chapel followed by internment at Willow Wild Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons Clayton Cox, Caleb Cox, Colton Cox, Jonathan Hissam, Ridge Chaney, and son-in-law Ricky Chaney. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of 7th & Main Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family recommends making a donation in memory of Leldon to your favorite charity.
