Obituary for Leon “Fred” Dunn, Jr. Leon “Fred” Dunn, 87, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2018. He was born December 26, 1930 to Leon and Beulah (Hannah) Dunn in Detroit, MI. Fred held multiple positions at Boeing for 20 years and then taught English and German at Campus High School in Haysville for 16 years.

While at Campus, he coached girls basketball, volleyball, and track. Fred was a volleyball referee, assisted with the debate and forensics teams, and was a Boy Scout Master. He loved being in the church choir and volunteered with the United Methodist Men.

Fred participated in high school and community plays and was a member of Friends of the Library. He was on the Haysville City Council. Fred loved to travel and visited Germany 10 times.

He and his wife retired to Grand Lake near Grove, OK where Fred substitute taught. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Phyllis Dunn; and daughters-in-law, Wanda (Neifert) Dunn and Robin (Longnecker) Dunn. Fred is survived by his children, David Dunn, Jeffery Dunn, Michael (Shirley) Dunn, and Rebecca (Dean) Knoll; grandchildren, J.J. (Cassie) Dunn, Joshua (JaNeane) Dunn, Richard (Becca) Dunn, Katie Dunn, Marcus Dunn, Meagan (Ronnie) Unruh, Tyler McMillin, and Larissa (Alex) Mounce; 10 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Rose Marie Young and Jim (Laura) Dunn.

Memorial Service: 10 am, Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the Haysville United Methodist Church, 601 E. Grand Ave. Haysville, KS 67060. Memorial contributions may be made to the Haysville United Methodist Church.
