Obituary for Leon Stryffeler Leon Stryffeler, 80, of Alliance, died on June 30, 2018, at 5:50 p.m. at The Haven in Beloit. He was born on May 18, 1938 in Alliance, and lived in Alliance most of his life. He was a graduate of Alliance High School and a veteran of the Vietnam Era, serving our country in the US Army.

Leon was a member of Vine Street United Methodist Church. He retired from Filnor Inc. and Firestone, where he was employed as a wireman. Leon spent countless hours in his shop fixing and building items for his family.

He also enjoyed playing and watching golf and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline (Robin) Stryffeler whom he married on May 19, 1967; his daughter, Catherine (Daniel) Royer of Louisville; his son, Jam (Hettie) Stryffeler of Naples, FL; eight grandchildren, Jean Claude, Martin, Natalie, Sarah, Joel, Ethan, Lindsey and Dustin; two great-grandchildren, Piper and Paxton; three sisters, Joyce Galieti, Rowena Angelino and Eleanor Campeau; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, Henry and Pauline (Wheeler) Stryffeler; and a brother, Glenn Stryffeler.

Funeral services will be held at Walton-Schrader Funeral Home on Thursday, July 5, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. David Bloor officiating. Interment will take place at Fairmount Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Haven, 19690 Middletown Rd, Beloit, OH 44609 or to Alliance Hospice, 2461 W. State St., Alliance, OH 44601 or to the Alzheimer’s Association, Alz.org.

Arrangements are by the Walton-Schrader Funeral Home, 1131 West State Street, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
