Leonard ‘Anthony’ Dennis, Jr., 19, of Helena, died suddenly Sunday, May 19. A funeral service will be held at 11:00A.M., Thursday, May 23, at Community Church of God with burial at Harrelson Family Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday, 6:00-8:00P.M., at Vaughn Funeral Home, McRae.

Born in Hawkinsville, Anthony was a 2017 Honor Graduate of Wheeler County High School where he was an athlete and a member of Beta Club. He was a sophomore at Middle Georgia College and was recently inducted into the National Society of Leadership and Success with Sigma Alpha Pi. A beloved son, brother, nephew, uncle and friend who loved the outdoors, Anthony attended Community Church of God of Helena and Corinth Baptist Church of Hawkinsville.

Survivors include his parents, Len and Brandy Dennis of Helena; paternal grandmother, Wauweeze Dennis of Helena; maternal grandparents, Charlie and Wanda Lancaster of Eastman; and maternal great-grandmother, Maudie Lou Lancaster of Hawkinsville; sister, Emily Dennis of Helena; brother, Zane Dennis of Helena; longtime girlfriend, Paige Carey; niece, Josie Bargo of Helena; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
