OBITUARY Leonila Cruz Jacquez January 18, 1929 – December 9, 2018 Leonila Cruz Jacquez Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and Tia passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at the age of 89. Leonila was born on January 18, 1929 in Ajo, Arizona where she grew up. The big fiestas that she attended were in Sonoyta, Sonora where her father’s family resided.

It was there where she met her husband Gilberto Larrinaga. They were married for 11 years until his untimely death in 1962. Leonila (Leo), as her classmates and friends called her raised her 4 children in Mexicali, Baja California.

It wasn’t until 1965 that she moved to Tucson. Leonila was a parishioner of St. Monica’s Church, along with her mother. They became charter members of the Legion of Mary; later Leonila joined the Guadalupanas.

She was preceded in death by her parents Martin and Isaura Jacquez, her brother Jorge Jacquez, beloved son George Larrinaga, son-in-law Fred Sanchez Gomez and daughter-in-law Elsa Ortiz Larrinaga. To cherish her memory she leaves behind her loving children Gilbert Larrinaga (Lucy), Gina Gomez Valenzuela (Fernando), Manny Larrinaga (+Elsa). She will forever be treasured by her grandchildren who were her pride and joy, Freddy Joe, Bettina, Paulino, George, Andres & Vanessa.

Also her 5 great-grandchildren, Isiah Larrinaga, Nicolas Gomez, Joseph Gomez, Angel Munguia and Evelisse Larrinaga. Our hearts are broken; she will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know and love her. Services will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Funeraria Del Angel South Lawn, 5401 South Park Ave.

, Tucson, Arizona 85706. Viewing at 8:30am, Rosary at 9:30am, mass at 10:30am at St. John Evangelist Church. Interment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery.
