NORWAY-Leroy H. “Sonny” Conant, 90, of Norway, died Sunday morning, May 13, 2018 at the Norway Center for Health & Rehabilitation. He was born on Mar. 25, 1928, in Lewiston, a son of Leroy M. and Ruth (Bartley) Conant.

He attended schools in South Paris. In 1950 he married Inette Haskell and they made their home locally as he worked for Whitman Oil in Norway for many years as a service technician. He later worked servicing mobile homes for area businesses.

He was a veteran of… Read More » the US Navy from 1946 to 1948 during WWII. He attended the Advent Christian Church in Mechanic Falls and served as a deacon; later he attended the Oxford Seventh Day Adventist Church with his wife and daughter. He loved gardening, camping, and doing word puzzles, but what he loved most was being with his wife and daughter.

Sonny is survived by his wife, Inette of Norway; a daughter, Winona Conant of Norway; many nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Polly Robinson. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Inman. A graveside service is planned for Sunday, May 20th at 11:00 AM at the Riverside Annex in South Paris.
