Obituary for Leslie Sharkey On Saturday, October 6, 2018, Leslie Anne Sharkey, age 62, of Keedysville, Md. , passed away after a rigorous fight against cancer. She was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend.
Born January 16, 1956 in Washington DC. , to the late Francis and Mary Sharkey. Leslie had an undeniable flare for life and always knew what she wanted.
Leslie enjoyed living in the mountains for the last eighteen years with a variety of furry companions who adored her. She took great pride and devotion in caring for her Mom for several years and managing family events. Leslie was a stickler for details in her home design and decoration including collectables handed down from generations before her.
She was very giving and compassionate about helping her family and friends with advice that followed her own life lessons provided by God and her parents. She would quote her Mom or Dad in a second to make a point. It is ironic how free she lived in her younger years with such strict guidelines.
Leslie was one of kind and will be greatly missed. Leslie will be forever loved and missed by her stepson William Downey (Dawn), sister Patricia Warren, nephew Matthew Warke (Emily), neice Ashleigh Hanson (Robert), grandchildren Liam and Olivia Downey, great nephews Wells and Sam Warke, Elijah and Jalidi Hanson. Leslie will also be lovingly remembered by extended family, cousins, and dear friends.
Leslie predeceased by her parents and sister Terice Nash who will be welcoming her home with open arms. A celebration of life will be held tentatively on Leslie’s birthday of January 16, 2019 in the Frederick area, more information to be announced at a later date.
