OBITUARY Lester Wilburn Lovejoy September 21, 1924 – October 16, 2018 Lester Wilburn Lovejoy, 94, of Cross Lanes WV went home to be the Lord on October 16, 2018 at the Hubbard House in Charleston, WV following aa extended illness. Lester grew up and attended school in Lincoln County, WV. He served in the US Navy as a navigation/radio specialist during WWII in the South Pacific and was awarded the Purple Heart.

Lester worked as a Communication Transmitter Engineer and worked for many radio and television stations throughout the Kanawha Valley. He retired from WQBE in 1989. Lester also owned and operated the Malibu from 1966-1971.

Lester is survived by his wife of 72 years Scyletha Pearl Adkins Lovejoy, son Larry A. Lovejoy and his wife Mary-Ann. He is Preceded in death by his daughter Patricia Ann Lovejoy Martin. Also surviving are three granddaughters, Amanda Christine Lovejoy Thomas, Kathleen Summer Lovejoy Hiatt, and Kari Lyn Martin Barnett.

He is also survived by four great grandchildren, Jacob Rodger Thomas, Nicolas William Thomas, Virginia Pearl Thomas, and Kendal Makenzie Hiatt. Joint funeral services for him and his daughter will be held at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home and Memory Gardens on Friday October 19, 2018 at 2:00pm. Visitation will be from 1:00pm until the time of service.
