Obituary for Lewis Dale Hagar Lewis Dale was born in Searcy, Arkansas on September 2, 1937 to proud parents George and Okla Hagar. He was the eldest of five children, followed by siblings Moreane, Virginia, Lonnie and Ronnie. The Hagar family moved to Aldrich, Missouri and it was there he would meet the love of his life, Betty Glenn.

Lewis and Betty moved west to Ojai, California where they were married in his mother’s front yard on June 4, 1956. In November of 1959 they welcomed their first son, Dale, followed by daughter Cheryl in December of 1961 and then Darrell “Doby” in February of 1964. They moved to Bakersfield in 1973 where they raised their family and Lewis would work in the oil industry for many years.

His proudest career move would come in the early 1990’s when he became owner/operator of L.D. Hagar Trucking. He loved his truck and the friends and family he worked alongside. He retired at 71 but not long after, came out of retirement to work with his son Doby’s trucking company.

Lewis enjoyed fishing and hunting, gardening, playing with his grandkids, and scratching his lotto tickets. Lewis will live on in the memories of: his wife of 62 years, Betty, his brother Lonnie, his son Dale, daughter Cheryl, son and daughter-in-law Doby and Joann, three grandchildren CiAnne, Jordan and Dylan, great-grandson Sebastian, many special nieces and nephews, and countless friends. He is preceded in death by his parents George and Okla, sister Moreane Waggoner and brother Ronnie.
