Lewis Edward “Doc” Hulvey, 85, of Judsonia, passed away December 2, 2018 at his residence. He was born May 28, 1933 to the late George and Mildred Hulvey. Doc grew up on a farm in central Illinois; went on to join the US Air Force and served 12 years.

He was stationed mostly in the northern United States, and was stationed his last 4 years in Jacksonville, AR as an Air Traffic Controller. After leaving the military he tried his hand at many things, selling insurance being one he enjoyed mostly. Later on, he went to Palmer College of Chiropractic in Illinois.

Upon graduating he practiced in Keo and Searcy, Arkansas for 40 years always offering 24 hour care. In addition to these accomplishments, he pastored the Church of the Healing God in Judsonia for 40 years. He married Gwyn Nick Hulvey February 22, 2007 at Judsonia; she survives.

He is also survived by three natural children, Don Hulvey (Susie), Rose Overleese (Jeff) and Cyndi Dillon (Ross); three step children, Michael Moody, Dian Moody and Katherine Moody; three men you could call acquired or adopted sons, Tom Sapp (Lynda), Larry Rogers (Liz) and Shane Betts (Cathie); eight grandchildren, Drew Dillion, Anna Torrance (Jason), Lyn Carter (Brett), Ashley Rogers (Derek), Lawra Zarecki (Dave), Nichollas Rogers, Dakata Betts Cathie, and Danielle Tippitt; seven great grandchildren, Hoyt Carter, Leo Carter, Helen Torrance, Brooke Zarecki, Colton Zarecki, Mia Rogers, and Tristin Rogers; five siblings, Mildred Billington, Beulah Lowery, Robert Hulvey, Theodore Hulvey (Juanita), and Mary Lee Cherry (Buford). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Franklin Hulvey, Pauline Miller, Alma Malone, and Nettie Strohkirch. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Downtown Church of Christ Children’s Ministry.

In lieu of services, a funny and upbeat card may be sent to the family home. Cremation has been provided by Sullivan Funeral Care – Ascension Crematory.
