Lila Mattice Smith, age 93, passed away June 2, 2018 in Pima, Arizona. Lila was born March 31, 1925 in Benjamin, Utah to Carl F. Lundell and Sarah Vida Tippetts Lundell. She was raised in Benjamin and attended schools there.

She came to Arizona in 1945 to attend school at Gila Junior College (Eastern Arizona College) where she met Seth G. Mattice. They were married Oct. 6, 1948 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

They made their home in Pima where Seth worked with his father and brother in the family business. Lila was a mother and homemaker and was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Days Saints serving in various capacities during her lifetime. She was preceded in death by her husband Seth in July of 1973 and a second husband Van Smith, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

She is survived by children: Rue (Delia) Mattice of Thatcher, Kim (Vyonne) Mattice of Pinetop, Tracy (Cindy) Mattice of Wickenburg and Nila (Ken) Calder of Apple Valley, CA. as well as 18 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Pima Cemetery in Pima, Arizona.
