Obituary for Lilia A. Barela LILIA V. BARELA entered into the hands of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at the age of 88. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and will be greatly missed. She was a graduate of El Paso High ‘Class of 1948’ retired from Southern Union Gas Co. and was Past President of the Legion of Mary.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband George J. Barela. Left to cherish her memory are her brother Hector R. Venegas and beloved children: Samuel J. Barela (Anita), Georgiana B. Gale (Steve), Richard R. Barela (Grace); loving grandchildren: Andrea M. and Valerie N. Barela, Samantha Salazar (Mike), Jeremy Gale, Charles Jason LeBlanc (Chasity), Benjamin and Danny Barela, great-grandchildren; Stephen, C.J., Jason, Landon and Lily. Very special gratitude is extended to Marta Ramirez, her companion and caregiver of several years.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 from 5:00PM to 9:00PM, with Holy Rosary at 7:00PM at Sunset Funeral Home-West. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 10:00AM at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 400 W. Sunset Rd. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of the Valley in Santa Teresa, NM.
