OBITUARY Lillian Handel July 25, 1924 – December 9, 2018 Lillian Handel, age 94, of Freehold, New Jersey passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018. She was born July 25, 1924 in Newark, New Jersey to Morris and Rachel (née Lewis) Lefkowtz. She was an elementary school teacher in Piscataway for 31 years.

Mrs. Handel was preceded in death by her daughter Rochelle “Shelly” Handel as well as her sisters Esther and Isabelle. She is survived by her son Martin Handel and his wife Lisa; son Steven Handel; and three granddaughters: Rebecca, Rachel, and Erica Handel. A graveside service will be held Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge Center Drive, Woodbridge, NJ 07095 followed by a burial.

A period of mourning will be observed Thursday, December 13, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lillian’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association (www. heart.org) and the American Cancer Society (cancer.org).
