Obituary of Lillian Castro Lillian Castro, age 87, of New Egypt and formerly of Toms River, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Care One in Jackson. She was born in Brooklyn NY to the late Valentine Alvarez and Rosario Alonso on November 14, 1930. Lillian married Ricardo Castro in 1951 and the couple had one daughter.

Lillian worked for several years as a District Secretary for Verizon before her retirement. She was an avid bowler, a prior member of the Rosary Society in NY and had an extensive Lladro collection. She also enjoyed going to Atlantic City and traveling all over the world with her husband.

Lillian was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be deeply missed. Lillian is predeceased by her parents, Valentine Alvarez and Rosario Alonso (nee Fernandez); her beloved husband Ricardo Castro; and by her brother-in-law Hyrum Hesse. She leaves behind her daughter, Deborah Flynn and her husband Barry of New Egypt NJ; her grandson Corey Flynn of Montclair NJ; her sister Gloria Hesse; and by her step-brother Thomas Alonso.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 from 4PM to 7PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, located at 52 Main Street, New Egypt NJ 08533. A funeral service will begin at 7PM. Interment will be held private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lillian’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America at www. alzfdn.org.
