Lily “Mary” (Alexopoulos) Kane, 94, died in her East Longmeadow home on Friday, February 15, 2019 with her loving family at her side. Born on May 29, 1924 in Sufffield, CT to her Greek immigrant parents, Gus and Irene (Danos) Alexopoulos, Lily lived in East Longmeadow since 1960. She worked as a waitress at Charles’ Diner on Union St. in West Springfield, and also cleaning private homes which she did until she was nearly 80 years old.

Lily loved to dance, listen to country western music, and laugh and have fun with her family. The matriarch of her family, she was predeceased by her eight brothers and sisters. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ronald E. Kane, her two sons, Gary Kane of East Longmeadow and Ronny Kane and his fiancé, Theresa Dionne, of East Longmeadow, her daughter, Diane Chamberlain and her husband Scott of Springfield, two grandchildren, Tammy Chamberlain and Randy Chamberlain and his wife Kristina, as well as one great-granddaughter, Sadie Lillian.

Funeral Services for Lily will be on Saturday, Feb. 23, with Calling Hours at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave. , Springfield from 9am – 11am followed by a Funeral Service in the funeral home at 11am and burial in Greenlawn Cemetery in East Longmeadow.
