Lily’s Obituary Lily Viola “Peggy” Shackelford, age 78, of Middlesboro, KY, passed away at the Middlesboro ARH Hospital in Middlesboro, KY on Wednesday, May 1, 2019. She was born on May 4, 1940, the daughter of Ernest Roberts and Verna Price Roberts. She was a lifelong TN Vols fan and was an avid bowler.

She was a member of the Binghamtown Baptist Church for many years. She served her fellow American Vets at the VFW. She took pride in tending to her beautiful flowers and garden.

Her pride and joy was her son; Carl, as well as her Granddaughters and Great-Grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Sisters, Betty Smith, Mabel “Tootsie” Asher and Henrietta Ausmus; Brother, Ernest “Jr”. Roberts and Daughter-in-law, Jana-Lea Hopkins Shackelford.

She is survived by the following family members: Son, Dallas “Carl” Shackelford, II; Granddaughters, Jamey (Chris Buell) Hopkins, Samantha (Shane) Hatfield, Carla (Eric) Overton, Ariel (Daniel Crawford) Shackelford and Taylor Mackenzie-Lea Shackelford. Great-Grandchildren, Ethan and Bentley Buell; Chandler, Jaylyn and Braxton Mink, Kyler and Paytonn Hatfield; Kate and Ella Overton; Wyatt and Brogan Crawford; special friends, Dallas and Sharlene Shackelford and the “Garage Boys”; and a host of other special relatives and friends. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m., all at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel in Middlesboro, KY.

Pallbearers will be Chandler Mink, Shane Hatfield, Daniel Crawford, Eric Overton, Jason Shackelford, Linc Shackelford and Chris Buell. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dallas “Carl” Shackelford, II, Braxton Mink and Scott McDonald. Graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at 12:00 noon at Green Hills Memorial Gardens in Middlesboro, KY.
