Linda’s Obituary Linda Marie Custer, 65, of Bayard, Nebraska, passed away on November 28th, 2018 after many years of various health issues at Chimney Rock Villa. Linda wished for a cremation and a memorial service in her honor will be announced at a later date. Linda was born in Oshkosh, Nebraska on November 17th, 1953.
She graduated from Garden County High School in 1972 and later in life went to Western Nebraska Community College for nursing. Linda worked as a nurse’s aide at the Garden County Nursing Home for many years. Her true passion was in cooking.
She worked with her mother and father at Custer’s Last Stand in Lisco and was well known for her Sunday Fried Chicken Special. She also cooked for the S&S Café in Oshkosh and was also considered the best cook in Western Nebraska while cooking at Bennies in Lewellen. Linda is survived by her son Kristen of Tucson, Arizona; her brothers Jerry Custer of Sterling, Colorado and Michael Custer of Oshkosh and by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews whom she loved just as if they were her own children and grandchildren.
Linda is preceded in death by her mother and father Fay and Tuff Custer and brother Rickey Custer and sister Tammy. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Chimney Rock Villa, 106 E 13th St. Bayard, NE 69334. The family of Linda wishes to thank Holechek-Bondegard Funeral Homes.
