Lloyd Buddy (Bud) Cecil of Barberton passed away on September 7, 2018 at the age of 94. He was the beloved husband for 68 years to the late Goldie Evelyn (nee Mutz). His greatest love in this life was for the Lord Jesus Christ and his family.

He was faithful and actively involved in the work of the Lord from a young age, playing various string instruments, teaching Sunday School, serving as a deacon at Apostolic Pentecostal Church of Akron under the late Rev. R. E. Carter. Also as an instructor at the former Ohio Bible College.

He helped with the building of several church structures. He served his country in the U. S. Army during WW II. He was a certified welder working at PPG, then retiring from FM Machine Co. after 20 years service.

He was an avid bird watcher and fisherman. He enjoyed gardening both flowers and vegetables, spending leisure time working hundreds of jigsaw and Sudoku puzzles and reading. He leaves behind daughters, Claudia Craig and Judith (H.

Robert) Miller, grandchildren, Lawrence (Julie) Craig; Laura (Matthew) Wieland, Sherrie (Evan) Letner, and Darin (Shandenara) Miller; along with seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and brothers and sisters in the Lord. He was preceded in death by parents, William and Nora Cecil, one brother and four sisters. Sincere appreciation to the entire Summa Hospice team for all of their caring support.

Memorial service will be on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at 7 p.m. with calling hours preceding the service beginning at 5 p.m. at Calvary Apostolic Church 2693 Nesbitt Ave. , Akron 44319, where he was one of the founding members, with Pastor Nelson Carter officiating. Private graveside service with military honors will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Seville.
