Lloyd R. Vight, 92, of 24 Kings Bluff, died Sunday, Feb. 3 at Buckley Healthcare Center in Greenfield. He was born in Palmer, Ma, Jan.

3, 1927, the son of Otto and Grace (Watrous) Vight. Vight was a WWII US Army veteran. Following discharge in 1947 he was employed by the former Kendall Mills in Griswoldville as a maintenance electrician.

He worked at Kendall for several years. With the electrical training he received in the service he operated his own TV & Radio business from his home. For his 65th wedding anniversary with his wife the former Geraldine (Garland), Lloyd built a “horseless carriage”.

He also built a tree house and go-carts. He was a ham radio operator and taught his grandchildren his hobby as well. Survivors besides his wife of 70 years of Colrain include his son Ronald (Patricia) Vight of Colrain, his daughter Deb (Kevin) Gilbert of Colrain; brother Everett (Lois) Vight of Conway; sister Esther Wilder of Indiania; sister-in-law Helen Vight of Charlemont; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 8, at 11:00 am at Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home in Shelburne Falls. Calling hours are Thursday evening from 6-8 at the funeral home.

Burial will be in West Branch Cemetery in Colrain. In lieu of flowers it is suggested donations be made to the Colrain Volunteer Ambulance Assoc.
