Lois M. Smith, 92, of Janesville, WI passed away on Monday September 10, 2018 at Huntington Place in Janesville. Lois was born on January 9, 1926 to Thomas and Millie (Hanson) Smith in Rio, WI. She graduated from Rio High School in 1944 and later married Herbert Smith at Bethel Lutheran Church in Madison on September 25, 1948.

After living in Madison and Rio for a short time, Herb and Lois moved to Milton, where they raised their four children together. She also enjoyed being a part of St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church’s Ladies Aid, playing cards in card clubs, painting ceramics with her friends, and Sunday afternoon car rides with Herb.

In Lois’ later years, while living at Huntington Place, she enjoyed going on bus rides to different locations, while the group would sing songs and play harmonicas. Lois is survived by her sons Robert, David (Deb McGillivray), Brand (Sharon) and her daughter Linda (Dave) Voelz; her grandchildren, Nathan, Jason, and Kyle and her great-grandchildren, Zayden and Aanon. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Herb, her parents, a brother Glenn, and sisters Olive and Ruth.

Services will be held on Thursday, September 13 at St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, 910 E. High Street, Milton at 11:00 am with Pastor Larry Schwanke officiating. Visitation will be at 10:00 am until time of services at the church. The Albrecht Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Milton is assisting the family.

The family would like to thank the staff at Huntington Place and Agrace Hospice of Janesville for their care to Lois.
