Obituary for Lois W Johnson Lois Wilson Johnson, 101 years old, born as she would tell you, “with one arm in TN and one arm in Alabama” – January 26, 1917 went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 16 , 2018 Eastlake, OH. Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Raymond Milkom Johnson, son Billy Gene Johnson, her parents James Albert and Lillie Bell Wilson, her mother, Lizzie Abercrombie Wilson, her brothers Austin Wilson (Gladys) , Orland Jay Wilson (Vialeeta), her sisters Willodean Wilson, and Mettie Lee Herston; Survived by her brothers Jerald Wilson (Shirley); James Wilson (Nora Lee), and J.B. (Sue), and brother-in-law Bill Herston; her daughters L. Genell Homner (John); L. Faye Johnson; Shawana Johnson (Tom Kerr); 6 grandchildren Karen Lois Cantrick (David); Mallory Hambly (Monte Miller); Raymond Steven Johnson (Carol); Thomas E. Kerr (Jennifer); David W. Kerr (Dawn); Christopher C. Kerr (Shawnna); 13 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren and 15 nieces and nephews, and 100’s of neighbors and friends. Lois was a dedicated wife and loving mother, grandmother, great (great)-grandmother, neighbor and friend, and was known for her strong faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She was dedicated to the care of her family and her home. She was an extraordinary cook and her love of cooking for her family and friends was only outweighed by her love of gardening. She served others tirelessly and could always be found in her kitchen, garden, yard or at her sewing machine working on something for others.
She was a strong-willed woman with endless energy and a strength of character that was unending and so reminiscent of the greatest generation which she so well-represented. The family extends a special thanks for the exceptional love and care of Lois provided by the Visiting Angels of Mentor and The Cleveland Clinic Hospice, and Lorraine & Edie Gauvin, family friends.
