Lola Schultz Rossi of Corsicana passed from this life on Friday evening January 18, 2019 at the age of 90. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 12:00pm at the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery 1702 East State Highway 97 Jourdanton, Texas 78026. Lola was born September 15, 1928, the second child of two sisters and one brother, John, Leila, and Joey.

She spent her childhood growing up on a large farm, picking cotton with her family, riding horses, and doing her schoolwork by kerosene lamp. In 1948, she married her husband, Bill, with whom she would spend the next 49 years before he went to heaven in 1997. They were blessed with a happy, loving marriage and two children, Ronnie and Janet.

Family has always been Lola’s biggest priority and she raised her children close to their cousins, aunts and uncles in Jourdanton, spending most of her life in the South Texas area. Lola was a wonderful grandmother to 5 grandchildren, who benefited from many bowls of her tasty chicken & dumplings and her endless supply of Blue Bell vanilla ice cream. She enjoyed games…teaching many of her grandkids to play Skip-Bo, enjoying a good game of dominoes with the adults, and always cheering on her Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs.

Her favorite color was red, which she wore often. She was proud of her German heritage and loved to attend Wurstfest or anywhere she could do the chicken dance. Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune and soap operas were always playing on the tv in her spotless kitchen.

Her home was warm and welcoming, and she enjoyed hosting others for a meal or for weekly coffee and dump cake. She is survived by daughter Janet Coble, son Ronnie Rossi, grandchildren Brandi Niles & husband Adam, Cassi DeLeon, Cody Coble & wife Jill, Jenna Wilkerson & husband Ricky, Kristi Cowan & husband Nathan, 11 great grandchildren, brother John Schultz & wife Nadine, and numerous nieces and nephews. We will remember her smile, her sparkling eyes, and her happy presence that blessed us all.
