Lonnie Saisslin passed away suddenly on May 11, 2019 in Seattle, WA due to a tragic accident at the age of 70. Lonnie was a New Year’s baby born to Leona Johnston Kvalheim and Aubrey Saisslin on January 1, 1949. He grew up in West Seattle and graduated from Chief Sealth High School, Class of 1968.

Shortly after, he began his lifelong career @ Todd/Vigor Shipyardas a Pipefitter. He married his wife Chris in 1972 and together they raised two children, Jason and Kalli. Lonnie took great pride in his profession and was honored to retire as a Production Superintendent.

Upon his retirement, he took interest in expanding his knowledge of pruning in which he took a college course, worked on multiple house projects and was known as “Mr. Fix It” amongst his Family and Friends, was an active member in his Union, Local 32, enjoyed razor clamming and time at the Coast, road trips, a cruise to Alaska, supporting his local sports teams, and most of all, spending time with Family, especially his Grandkids. Lonnie had an incredible work ethic, strong will to stand up for what he believed in, an infectious perseverance, and love for his Family that will always be cherished. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 46 years, Chris and their children, Jason(Laura) and Kalli (Eric) and some of his biggest fans, his grandchildren: Kaleb, Hazel, Ava, and Juliana.

He will also be fondly remembered by his Father Aubrey Saisslin and four siblings: Kris Ann, Randy, Lynn, and Dave. All are welcome to attend a Celebration of Lonnie’s Life on Saturday, June 8th at 1:00pm UA Local 32 Meeting Hall: 595 Monster Rd SW Renton, WA 98057. Lonnie’s family is very grateful for the gentle and superior care he received from the Neurosciences ICU department at Harborview Medical Center.
