Loren H. Hewitt, 93, of Greenwood, passed away on November 19, 2018. He was born on October 14, 1925 in Louisville, OH to the late John and Josephine (Gravieur) Hewitt. Loren was a Purple Heart Veteran of the Battle of the Bulge.

He was a faithful member of Resurrection Lutheran Church, where he served as church treasurer for 27 years. Loren was a member of the Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge. Starting in high school, Loren developed a great passion for vocal music, specifically gospel, which he passed on to his family. Loren is survived by his wife of 68 years, Betty R. Hewitt; sons, Randy (Susie) Hewitt, and Brian (Veronica) Hewitt; grandchildren, Emily, Mason, Colin, Ross, and Laura; and eight great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 445 E. Stop 11 Road, Indianapolis.

Arrangements have been entrusted to G. H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens of Olive Branch. Loren will be laid to rest with military honors in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Resurrection Lutheran Church Endowment Fund.
