Obituary for Loretta Josephine Adams Loretta graduated from St. Nicholas High School in Zanesville in 1943, and then worked as a telephone operator and in a doctor’s office. On a trip to Cleveland with her aunt, she met Raymond Adams and they were married on Thanksgiving Day 1948. Loretta’s favorite hobbies included sewing, gardening, arts and crafts, bowling and golf.

She made many of the clothes that her five daughters wore growing up. She was active in the Isabella Guild of the Knights of Columbus and the Sultanas auxiliary of Alhambra. Loretta was the loving mother of Dr. Karen M. Adams, Deborah (David) Ahlgren, Beth (Len) Russo, Annette (Daniel) Thompson and Julie Adams; grandmother of Dawn (Brian) Chapman, Sarah Ahlgren, Daniel (Tina) Ahlgren, Andrew Ahlgren, Cassandra Thompson and Benjamin (Holly) Thompson; great grandmother of Allison and Erin Chapman and Elijah Ahlgren; adored sister of Dorothea Upshaw; aunt of 21 nieces and nephews, and great-aunt of many.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Adams; siblings Richard Horton, Hilda Pauline Swick and Charles Horton. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 7 at 10:30 am at St. Mary Magdalene Church, 32114 Vine St., Willowick. Interment will occur at All Souls Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at the Monreal Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd. , Eastlake. The family suggests donations to Up Side of Downs of Northeast Ohio, 6533-B Brecksville Rd, Independence 44131 and Rescue Village, 15463 Chillicothe Rd.
