Loretta Mae Vermillion of Dunkirk, MD, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 18, 2019, at the age of 92. She was born in Nanticoke, PA, on June 22, 1926 to Mary [O’Block] and John William Kunick. Loretta loved spending time with her family and took great joy in spoiling her grandchildren.

She also enjoyed reading and gardening. Loretta was the beloved wife of the late Ronald C. Vermillion, who passed away in 1977. She was the loving mother of Katherine Larson (Joe) and Kimberly Schaefer (John).

She was the devoted grandmother of Christopher, Sean, Nicole, Ronald and Madison; and the great-grandmother of Gianna and Jack. She was the sister of Margaret Lewis and the aunt to several nieces and nephews. Loretta is preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.

Family invites friends to Lee Funeral Home Calvert, 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736, on Monday, January 28 from 11 am until the start of Funeral Services at 11:30 am. Burial at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 4111 Pennsylvania Avenue, Suitland, MD 20746 will follow. Memorial Contributions may be made in Loretta’s name to Calvert Hospice, P O Box 838, Prince Frederick, MD 20678.
