Lorraine (Renie) Irene Evans Chandler August 6, 1941-December 8, 2018 Lorraine (Renie) Irene Evans Chandler of Fort Hall, Idaho was born on August 6, 1941 to Waldo and Jean Evans in Caldwell, Idaho. When she was five, she moved to Arbon Valley, Idaho where she was raised and attended Arbon Elementary school through the eighth grade. She then attended both American Falls High School and Pocatello High School.
She married Vance Dean Chandler in 1958. Together they had four children; one daughter and three sons. While she had four children of her own, she was like a mother to her younger brothers, cousins, as well as many others.
She was employed by AMI for well over 20 years. She then worked at Idaho State University and has spent the last several years managing the Eagle mobile park in Fort Hall, Idaho. She was always a hard worker and is admired and will be remembered as being a very independent woman.
Renie enjoyed horseback riding, fishing, camping, traveling, canoeing, ATV-ing, canning, playing pinochle, gardening, dogs, and spending time with her family. Even when things were tight, it was always a priority for her to take her family on vacations and trips so they could all have wonderful memories. Some of her favorites from when her children were young were going to Garden Creek and Westfork in Arbon Valley.
There were countless memories made that will be cherished. One love of her life was Island Park. Whether she was alone or with family, she has loved spending time there.
Even though Island Park will not be the same to her family without her physically there, we know she will be with us when we are there. Another love of her life was her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. That love was reciprocated by each of them.
They all agree that there was never any doubt as to how much Renie loved each of them. She was commonly surrounded by children, whether she was related or not. She definitely had a love for children and they loved her right back.
Renie also had many special dogs throughout her life and we know she is happy to be reunited with all of them. Renie loved going camping and always enjoyed the annual family camping trips to the Central Idaho Mountains. At 75, her children talked her into going white water rafting.
While she mastered the adventure, her two sons fell out of the raft. She spent her last birthday, her 77th, camping in Copper Basin, Idaho where she slept in a tent and made special memories with her four children, her grandson, and her great-granddaughter. She is survived by her four children: Shane (Tracie) Chandler of Chubbuck, Idaho; Todd (Lori) Chandler of Pocatello, Idaho; Debbie Moran of Pocatello, Idaho; and Bryan Chandler of Arbon Valley, Idaho; her four brothers: Bob, David, Monte, and Jerre; and her sisters-in-law: Ilene and Susan.
She is also survived by nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; her twelfth to be born in January. She is also survived by her friend and roommate of many years, Chris. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Renie lived life to the fullest. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on December 8, 2018 in Salt Lake City, Utah at the University of Utah Hospital. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 12 noon at the LDS Arbon Valley Church, 1358 Church Road Arbon, ID 83212 with a viewing for one hour prior. Interment will follow at the Arbon Valley Cemetery.
