Obituary for Lorraine Jones Lorraine Jones, 83, of Hamilton passed away at home on Wednesday with her family by her side. Born in Trenton, she was a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of Cathedral High School.
Mrs. Jones was a Senior Clerk with the State Law Library – State of New Jersey for 25 years. Lorraine enjoyed traveling with her husband, experiencing the sunsets of Hawaii, the international fare of Europe, and the culture of the Caribbean. And more locally, she delighted in weekend getaways with her brother and sisters as well as celebrating special moments with family.
She was a woman of many talents and relished in sharing those gifts with her family and friends, whether it be a knitted afghan, a ceramic lamp, or using her culinary skills to bring everyone together over a gourmet meal. And, her love for her family was boundless. Daughter of the late Edward and Marie Abbott Kopera, she is survived by her husband of 62 years, Harold J. Jones; 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert H. Jones of Hamilton, and Jack and Donna Jones of Middletown, CT; 4 grandchildren, Christopher Jones, Lauren and husband Eric Lipenholtz, Benjamin Jones and Jacob Jones; great grandson James; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Joyce Begg, and Shirley and Richard Zarrilli; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Marie Kopera; also, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 6 – 9pm at the Murphy Funeral Home, 1863 Hamilton Ave. , Hamilton, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11:30am at St. Gregory the Great Church, 4620 Nottingham Way, Hamilton.
Entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Mausoleum.
