Louann Tronsberg Deihle, aged 55 years, passed from this life and into the waiting arms of the Lord on June 11, 2018, after a valiant fight with cancer. She was taken from us much too early, but we are comforted in knowing that God has called her home. Wife of Fr.
Lawrence C. Deihle; beloved mother of Emma, Sarah and Ian Deihle; daughter of Kenneth Sr. and Eileen Tronsberg; sister of Kathryn Tronsberg Macciocca (Frank), Kenneth Tronsberg Jr. (Kim) and the late Kristopher Tronsberg; she also is survived by many loving family members and close friends who became family. A Pittsburgh native, Louann graduated from Gateway Senior High School and received her undergraduate degrees in international business and international relations from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Upon graduating, she began her career in New York City alongside friends from Penn.
She then returned to her hometown, where she obtained a Master of Business Administration from the Tepper School of Carnegie Mellon University. Louann enjoyed a long, successful business career in Pittsburgh, first at PNC Bank and subsequently at WESCO Distribution. Since 2008, she served as treasurer of Koppers, Inc., a position she was most grateful for and proud to hold.
Louann will be remembered as much for her business expertise and tenacity as for the caring relationships she built with her colleagues, her friends and everyone she encountered. Much more important than outward success, Louann was a respected and highly regarded individual who selflessly and routinely invested in the lives of others. There are countless individuals who were touched by Louann’s kindness and guidance.
She was a mentor and inspiration to many. She had a mind and an outlook to calm any storm and no matter the situation made time for all who needed her. The charitable endeavors she supported were a perfect reflection of her life and her faith.
Particularly important to her were the Brother’s Brother Foundation and the Pittsburgh Fellows, of which she was a board member. She also served on the Sewickley Academy board of trustees and the Academy’s Home and School Association. Over the last few years, Louann developed an even greater interest in golf and especially enjoyed the social aspects of the game.
She was a member of several country clubs including Oakmont, Allegheny, Edgeworth, Sewickley Heights, Mountain Lake (Fla. ) and Old Town Club (NC). Her love of travel leaves her family with lasting memories of recent trips to England, Ireland and Spain.
The role that Louann unquestionably dedicated her life to and loved the most was that of mother to her three children. She was the most loving, conscientious and giving mom the world has ever known. Nothing pleased Louann more than to impart upon her children the same value system she was so blessed with.
She looked forward with great anticipation to the many events, games, shows, concerts and rites of passage for her kids. Her life will be celebrated at a funeral mass, to be held at 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2018, at St. Stephen’s Church, 405 Frederick Avenue, Sewickley, followed by a reception at the church. All who knew and loved Louann are welcome to attend.
The family will hold a private inurnment service at Sewickley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Allegheny Health Network Cancer Institute or the Pittsburgh Fellows. Arrangements by Copeland’s.
