Louis “Lou” Bove, 80, of 82 Paul Revere Rd. Oil City, PA. , died at 6:30 P.M. Thursday Feb.
14, 2019 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh after an extended illness. Born Jan. 18, 1939 in Aliquippa, PA.
, he was the son of Frances Santolla Bove and the late Dominic Bove. Lou was a graduate of Aliquippa High School. He entered the United States Air Force in 1956 and served 4 years and was honorably discharged in 1960.
In 1961 he entered the United States Navy and served with them for 6 years. He had also served with the 171 National Guard in Pittsburgh. On Jan.
26, 1963 Lou married the former Delphine A. Ramunno in St. Joseph Church in West Aliquippa and she survives. They celebrated 56 years of marriage together. Lou had worked for J & L. Steel in Aliquippa and later relocated to Oil City where he worked for Pennzoil at the refinery in Rouseville as an instrument supervisor.
He was a member of St. Joseph Church. Lou enjoyed Karaoke at the VFW, and also enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins. Lou was Past Commander at the Oil City VFW and the American Legion.
He was also past president of the Oil City Lions Club and was a member of the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard where he serves as Treasurer and Chaplain. In addition to his wife , he is survived by his mother Frances Bove of Oakdale, PA.
A son Robert Bove & his wife Candy of Hopewell Twp. A daughter Annette Holmes & her husband Jim of Titusville a grandson Master Sgt. Bradley Bove & his wife Gayle and their children Tyler, Brooke and Danica of Hawaii a granddaughter Nicole Bennett & her husband James and their son Conner of CA a brother Donnie Bove & his wife Renee of Monaca a sister Emily Schneider & her husband Tim of Oakdale a sister -in-law Lucy Ramunno of Oil City brother-in-law Anthony Ramunno & his wife Darlene and their son Adam of Monaca and a special cousin Esther Barbuto & family of Aliquippa as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is also survived by his extended family at the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard. .
Friends will be received from 12Noon-4:00 P.M. Sunday in the Reinsel Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at in the funeral home at 4:00P.M.with Rev. John Miller presiding.
Military Honors will be then be accorded by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard. Interment will be in the cemetery of the Alleghenies at the convenience of the family.
