Louis L. Sammartino, 84, of Westfield, formerly of Jersey City, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, June 1, 2018. Louis retired from the Jersey City Parking Authority. He proudly served in the U.S. Army where he was the light weight boxing champion of Eastern Europe and Fort Hood, Texas.

Louis loved spending time with family especially his grandchildren attending all their events. Louis was the beloved husband of 58 years to Patricia (nee Vicari); devoted father of Jaclyn Russell, Luann Roselle and Louis & his wife Lori Sammartino; loving grandfather of Stephen and wife Tanya Russell, Christopher Russell, Owen Russell, Louis Sammartino, Nicholas Sammartino and Jake Sammartino; dear brother of Joseph & his wife Marie Sammartino. Visitation is on Monday, June 4, 2018, 4:00pm to 8:00pm at RIOTTO FUNERAL HOME & Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd.

, Jersey City, NJ 07306. Funeral will begin on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, 10:00am at the funeral home and a Religious Service will begin at 10:30am. Interment will follow at Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City.
