OBITUARY Louis Palmisiano May 2, 1924 – October 2, 2018 Louis Palmisiano, 94, of Deerfield Beach, FL passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2018. Lou graduated from Bell Township High School in Pennsylvania where he was a star athlete and state champion in baseball. He went on to play minor league baseball for 9 seasons as a pitcher and outfielder.

He remained active in the game he loved so much as an umpire and league director of softball for the city of Fort Lauderdale. Lou retired from the United States Postal Service after 30 years. After retirement, he spent over 25 years doing what he loved most, playing softball with his good friends and traveling around the world.

He was known as “Toothpick Louie,” by his softball teams who won numerous Senior Softball World Series Championships. He was inducted into the Florida and National Senior Softball Halls of Fame in recognition of his outstanding accomplishments and dedication to the sport. He reluctantly hung up his glove at the age of 91 and is missed by his teammates who have described him as a “living legend”.

Lou was preceded in death by his wife, Helen, father, Andreas, his mother, Philomena, his brothers Nick, Dominick, Patsy, August, Tony. He is survived by his brothers Mike and Joe Palmiscno, his sister Mary D’Angelo, and Loretta Lombardo, the love of his life for the past 16 years. Lou is beloved by his surviving family that include daughters, Lynne Morrison (Harry) and Nancy Sears; son, Louis (Darlene); grandchildren Chris, Jenny (Clark), Drew (Jennifer), Sara (Rob), Matthew, Louis Anthony, Justin, and Gabrielle; great grandchildren Hunter, Celeste, Chloe, Luke, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lou was no mere mortal to anyone who met him and will be in our hearts forever. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a wake service at 5:30 pm Kraeer Funeral Home, 200 West Copans Road, Pompano Beach. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 5, 2018 at 9:30 am St Ambrose Catholic Church, 380 S. Federal Hwy, Deerfield Beach.
