Obituary of Louisa Menyhert Louisa Roach Menyhert, 79 of Washington, D.C., passed away peacefully on February 12, 2019. She was born to the late William Neale Roach and Louisa Guthrie Roach on April 29, 1939. She came to Florida in 1983.

Louisa received her high school diploma from St. Mary’s Academy in Alexandria, VA where she was a member of Kappa Tau Phi Sorority and was President of her class. She received her Nursing degree from De Paul Hospital School of Nursing in Norfolk, VA and a Bachelor of Science Degree from St. Joseph’s College in Standish, ME. She worked in many hospitals including The National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD and Bay Pines Veterans Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL and retired from Bay Pines in 2005.

She was also a nurse in the United States Army Reserves and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2003. She was proud to serve her Country. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and she was in The Women In Military Service For America Memorial Foundation registrar.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in St. Petersburg, FL. Her faith was very important to her. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. William Robert Menyhert.

She is survived by her son, William Lansing Menyhert; daughters, Anne Gabrielle (Gaby) Gramling, and Genevieve (Gigi) Fleming; grandchildren Scotty B. Gramling Jr., William G. Gramling, Remy L. Fleming and Emily A. Fleming. She is also survived by her sister, Edith Chester; brothers, William Roach, and Eddie Roach and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Louisa was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, mother in law, and friend.

Her kind heart towards others and especially those serving our country did not go unrecognized. Her final wishes were to be laid to rest beside her loving husband in Budapest, Hungary. A funeral Mass and burial will be held in June 2019 in Hungary.

The family wishes to thank all of those that cared for her during her last days. Service for Louisa will be held at Anderson McQueen Funeral Home in St. Petersburg on Friday, March 1st, 2019 from 2-4pm, with a reception immediately following at The St. Petersburg Yacht Club from 4-7pm.
