Obituary for Louise B. “Babe” Giles (Conrad) Print Louise B. “Babe” (Conrad) Giles, 84, formerly of Shillington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 28, 2019, at Berks Heim. Born June 15, 1934, in Reading, Babe was a daughter of the late John C. and Louise B. (Grather) Conrad. Louise worked as a nurse’s aide at the former St. Joseph’s Hospital in Reading, and then in retail at a number of area locations.

A devout Catholic, Louise attended St. John Baptist de la Salle, Shillington, and Sacred Heart Church, West Reading, for many years, being especially devoted to the Blessed Mother. She was one of the most kind, caring, and giving persons you would ever meet. Louise endured a lot of hardship and suffering in her later years, but persevered with the same dignity and courage that carried her throughout her life.

Louise will be deeply missed by her children: son Patrick, companion of Ohm Adkins, Cupertino, Cal; daughters: Diane Christman, Reading, and Sherry, wife of Bradley Miller, Hamburg; as well as her grandchildren: Travis, Marissa and Chelsey, and a great granddaughter Kira, each of whom will miss their beloved “Granny”. Also surviving are her sisters Helen Schneiderman, and Marian Masi, wife of Al. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother Jackie Conrad.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 2, at 11:00am in the Chapel of the Resurrection at Gethsemane Cemetery, followed by her burial. Friends may call Saturday from 9:30-10:30am at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading.
