Louise Manton November 29, 1929 – May 07, 2019 Share this obituary Upload Photo| Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Louise Manton (nee DeWitt), age 89, of Largo, Florida went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 7, 2019. Louise was a long time resident of Franklin Township before moving to Cranberry Run in Buena in 2003, then Friend’s Village in Woodstown. She recently moved to Cypress Palms in Largo Florida where she enjoyed the last five months of her life.

She had been a snowbird for many years in the Largo / St. Petersburg area. Louise served as assistant treasurer in Franklin Township for 21 years before retiring. She began this job in her basement because there was no room in the old town hall.

She also worked as a Realtor for 38 years. She served as an officer in PTA’s and Senior Citizens. Louise was very involved in the Republican Committee.

She organized many fundraisers preparing the food in her own home. She never met a challenge that she couldn’t handle. She was an avid watcher of Fox News Channel.

Her favorite hobbies were playing pinochle and Rummikub and also square dancing. For recreation, Louise and her family spent time camping with a camping club and friends and often vacationed in Ocean City, NJ. She has always been known for her great meals whether on a camp stove or in her kitchen.

She often hosted large gatherings at holidays and special occasions. You never went away hungry from one of her meals. Most people that knew Louise, remember her delicious cooking.

No matter where she was living, she enjoyed cooking and sharing. Devoted mother of Bruce Manton, Brenda (Roger) Hurley, Bonnie (Thomas) Zuccarini and Brett Manton. Beloved grandmother to Mark Frye, Kara Manton, Kristen Prawl, Bo Manton, Leno Zuccarini and Emily Zuccarini.

Beloved great-grandmother to Preston Prawl. Also survived by her sister Fannie Riley of Deepwater and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Predeceased by her brother Henry DeWitt of Bridgeton and many dear friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Monday, May 13, 2019, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by her Celebration of Life at 11:00 at BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Maple Street, Clayton, NJ 08312. Interment Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Louise’s memory to researchautism.org.
