Obituary of Louise Thompson THOMPSON, Louise A. “Weezie” Age 93 of Elmira, NY. She was born April 20, 1925 in Miami, FL, daughter of the late Robert and Daisy (Wells) Carpenter and passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility. She was predeceased by her husband of 72 years, Albert R. Thompson on January 12, 2017; brothers Robert, Richard and Jerome; step brothers Douglas and Theodore Dimmett; sister Lillian Dekoschack; grandson, Richard Thompson and “adopted ” son Dennis Alexander.

Louise is survived by her son; Richard (Donna) Thompson, daughter, Deborah (Butch Albee) Hoffman, grandchildren; Kelly Jo Thompson, Craig (Rita) Thompson, and Greg (Shawndae) Sharpe; 6 great grandchildren; sister Helen McCarthy along with several nieces and nephews. Through the years, Louise did various types of work outside the home, initially at Remington Rand, where she met Albert; then after her kids entered school she was employed as a factory worker, housecleaner and seamstress, finally settling into her dream home to enjoy retirement, children and grandchildren. Louise loved to sing and dance and enjoyed hobbies such as den mother, sewing, crocheting, reading and crafting and decorating her home for any and all holidays and occasions.

In accordance with Louise’s wishes, no services will be held. The family wishes to send a big thank you to the staff at CCNF, especially the 5th floor for your care and compassion. You’re the best!

Also thanks to the staff at Woodbrook Assisted Living Residence. Walter J. Kent Funeral Home is assisting the family.
