Obituary for Lowell Gloyd Frye Lowell Gloyd Frye, 83, of Nederland, Texas passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2018. He was born in Galion, Ohio on September 20, 1935 to the late Gloyd A. Frye and Elsie Treisch Frye. Lowell served his country proudly in the U. S. Navy where he made it his career and retired after several terms of enlistment.

He served during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. One of the things he enjoyed was his hummingbirds “hummers”. He loved to watch them around the feeders.

Those left to cherish Lowell’s memory are his children, Christy Frye Rodgers and her husband, Roy of Maud, Kani Frye Thornton and her husband, Jack of Texarkana, Arkansas, Michael Frye of Beaumont, and Richie Frye of Nederland; a special extended family member, Ramona Frye of Buna; his brothers, Joseph Frye of Galion, Ohio, Charles Frye and his wife, Mildred of Galion, Ohio, Patrick Frye of Galion, Ohio, and Roy Frye of Galion, Ohio; his sisters, Margie Cline and her husband, David of Shelby, Ohio, Patricia Fruth and her husband, Jim of Galion, Ohio, and Beverly Prince of Galion, Ohio; his sister-in-law, Nancy Frye, wife of Walter Frye, of Galion, Ohio; 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Candi Barnes; and his brother, Walter Frye. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland on Sunday, December 9, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a memorial service to be held at 2:00 p.m. Following the service, the family is requesting family and friends to gather at the American Legion Hall in Nederland for a time of celebration of Lowell’s life.

Memorials may be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Foundation. Upcoming Events Visitation , DEC 9.
