OBITUARY Lowell Nienstedt October 25, 1919 – January 7, 2019 Nienstedt, Lowell Harrison Age 99, of Miamisburg, passed away Monday, January 7, 2019. Lowell was born on October 25, 1919 in Woodstock, IL to the late Harry and Maude Nienstedt. Lowell served bravely in the Navy for 4 years during WWII, including 2 years on the USS Cogswell, the first warship into Tokyo Bay after Japan’s surrender.

After attending Northwestern University, he worked in accounting and paper sales for several companies, ultimately retiring from Howard Paper in 1989. During his lifetime, Lowell lived in Illinois, Ohio, and California and enjoyed classical music, singing, fishing, traveling, and family gatherings. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Charles Nienstedt; sister, Sybil Freund; sister, Carol Smith; sister, Eleanor Daly; and brother, Stanley Grover.

Lowell is survived by his wife, Dolores; daughter, Peggy Jones (Richard) of Hesperia, CA; son, Richard Nienstedt of Crystal Lake, IL; granddaughter, Amanda Flohr-Egile, of Paris, France; granddaughter Christine Stratton (William) of Denton, TX; granddaughter, Elisabeth Flohr of Austin, TX; granddaughter, Mary Vasquez (Santos) of Hesperia, CA; granddaughter, Katherine Jones of Victorville, CA; 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A private family memorial service will be held in California at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family by signing the Guestbook at www.
