Lucille Mae Brudos, age 87, of rural Retreat died on Tuesday afternoon, July 3, 2018 at Gundersen Hospital. She was born March 15, 1931 in Vernon County to George and Blanche (Gilman) Hammond. On January 8, 1949, she married Robert Brudos.

They lived in rural Retreat, where they raised their five children, farmed and ran Brudos Electric. Lucille was a lifelong member of Southwest Prairie Lutheran Church; active in ladies aid and circle. She loved her motorcycle adventures with Bob and enjoyed being around people.

She was an awesome cook and baker. Lucille is survived by her five children; Andrew (Gretchen) Brudos of De Soto, Ronald (Susanna) Brudos of Viroqua, LuAnn (Norm) Tevis of Stoddard, Vicki Brudos of La Crosse, James (Carrie) Brudos of De Soto, Ten grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; Jason & Carissa Brudos of De Soto, Michael & Jennie (Andrew, Mason) Brudos of Viroqua, Tara & Brian (Tyler, Sean, Brianna, Cameron) McKittrick, Daren & Jenn (Brenner, Bowman) St. John of De Soto, Nicole & John (Asher) Ferrara of Rochester MN, Reid & Cory (Dexter, Rachael) Brudos of Holmen, Christina & Adam (Sawyer) Russell of La Crosse, Zachary & Amy (Natalie, Mason) Tevis of Onalaska, Lyndsey (Logan) and Tyler Brudos of La Crosse. Two sisters, Evelyn (Robert) Wallace and Carol (Deldon) Hanson, One brother Don (Barb) Hammond and one sister-in-law, Ione Watson.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert, her parents and two sisters Judy Meyer and Dorothy Parr. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 7th, 2018 at the South West Prairie Lutheran Church with Pastor Lori Kleppe officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Southwest Prairie church.
