Obituary for LUIS G. BALTAZAR A Catholic funeral mass service will be celebrated for Luis G. Baltazar age 56 of Lamesa at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 9, 2018 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father Joseph Kurumbel officiating. Interment will follow to Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
Viewing and visitation will be held on Wednesday and Thursday at the church of The House of Prayer located at 302 N. Ave. O in Lamesa. Rosary prayer services will be held 7:00 p.m. at The House of Prayer followed by Inspirational Services starting at 8:00 p.m. Luis passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, November 4, 2018 in Lamesa.
He was born on August 20, 1962 in Lamesa. He was preceded in death by his father, Cruz Baltazar, Sr.; his brothers, Jesse G. Baltazar and Joe G. Baltazar. Luis worked as a farm hand.
He enjoyed building model cars, he loved dancing and “break-dancing” to Michael Jacson’s music of his favorite MJ song of “Just Beat It”. He had a passion for doing yard work with his riding lawn mower. Luis had a great sense of humor and always joked around to make people laugh.
Luis considered himself as the official ” #1 Fan of the Dallas Cowboys”. Luis is survived by his children, Luis Manuel Baltazar and his daughter, Janie Marie Baltazar, both of Lamesa; his grandsons, Luis Carlos Baltazar of Seagraves, TX. , Julian I. Baltazar, Brendon Baltazar, Juan Oscar Garcia, all of Lamesa; his grand-daughters, Maria Isabel Garcia and Jessica Elliana Garcia, both of Lamesa; his mother, Amelia Baltazar of Lamesa; his brothers, Tiodoro Baltazar, Cruz Baltazar, Jr., Henry Baltazar, all of Lamesa and Lupe Baltazar of San Antonio, TX.
