She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Pearl Newsome and two brothers, Bill Newsom and William (Dean) Newsome. Surviving are her husband, Ollie Helms; children, Robin Helms, Dannie (Wanda) Helms and Kenneth (Karen) Helms; brother, G. B. Newsome; sisters, Tory June Parsons, Melvina Blair and Helen Lane; grandchildren, Josh Helms, Crystal Helms, Shane McGee, Tiffany McLain, Heather Helms and Kristina Helms; numerous great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday, May 16, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home with Rev. Douglas Coates officiating. Interment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens with Selma Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be prior to the service from 1-2:30 p.m. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
