A celebration of life service for Mrs. Lula S. Haywood of Tampa, FL who passed away on Monday, October 1, 2018 will be held on Friday, October 12th, 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of College Hill, 3838 N. 29th Street, Tampa, FL, Rev. S. Evan Burrows, pastor, officiating. The interment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery.
Lula Haywood was a native of Hillard, FL and was educated in the public schools of Nassau County, FL. Lula and David moved to Tampa, FL in 1944 to start their lives together. Lula was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of College Hill, Tampa, FL and a member of the Lily White Society.
You were the epitome of beauty! You taught us to love through your actions and the way you cared for others. You were everyone’s mother, grandmother, friend, sister and counselor, whatever you needed to be.
We just hope that we all realize the greatest tribute to your legacy is to live what you embodied each day “LOVE GOD, LOVE PEOPLE, LOVE ONE ANOTHER”. Lula was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Haywood, Sr
They were married for 65 years; daughter, Kay Haywood; sons, Paul and Kenneth Haywoo. ; Lula leaves to cherish her memories with her sons, David Muhammad (Rasheed) of Union Springs, AL, Jeremiah Haywood, John Haywood (Sharon) and Ray Haywood (Jackie); daughters, Mary Bivens, Helen Hawkins and Bettye Schier (Robert); loving sisters, Vernita Edwards, Faye Richardson and Mildred Staten. all of Fernandina Beach, FL and Louise Haywood of Folkston, GA; devoted grandchildren, Keena Haywood, Chanell Pearson, Paul Durden, Lamar Cooper, Kimrel Morgan, Keneysha and Brandon Cowden, Jackie Shaheed, Derrie Rushdan, Lonnie and Lawrence Wilson, Kaylin, Isaiah, Raiyonte and Jorden Haywood, Rita Thomas, Karolyn Bivens, Valerie and Leroy Tramel, Robin and Kenneth Weary, Stephen and Jennifer Bivens, Cathy and Polo Rhodes and Johnathan Stroud; many beloved great grandchildren, a host of beloved nieces and nephews; special friends, Billy and Shirley Bryant of Atlanta, GA, Rachel King, Dolly Grayson, Ruby Powell, Geraldine Askew, The McDonald Family, Lewis and Joyce Colbert, John Bellucia, Willie and Carol Matthews, Randall Millerner, Chef Paul and Kim Lewis, Chef Bobby Brown, Martha Williams, Harold McCall, Reggie “Bubba” Allen, William Brown, Clovis and Martha Neal, Clovis Alford and Jawain Neal.
The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Thursday, October 11th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Friday for the service.
