OBITUARY Lupe Figueroa-Galindo September 21, 1962 – January 12, 2019 Guadalupe “Lupe” Figueroa Galindo, a lighthearted, spontaneous, affectionate woman passed away January 12, 2019 surrounded by family at the age of 56. Lupe was born in East Bernard, Texas on September 21, 1962 and was raised in Houston, Texas by her parents, Jose G. Figueroa and Celia Garibay. On October 4, 1986 she was married to Andrew James Galindo and raised two loving daughters; Cristina and Clarisa.

Lupe was an educator and began her career working for Houston ISD and later worked as a Pre School teacher at St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church for 14 years. She shared her creativity and values in every lesson she gave in and outside the classroom. She will be greatly missed by her siblings; Oswaldo Figueroa and wife Rebecca; Jose Figueroa, Jr. and wife Belinda, and her nieces/nephews, Christopher, Marisa Figueroa Hernandez and husband Trey, Miguel, Marco, James, and William, as well as other loving family members and friends.

The family wishes to give a special thanks to Dr. Barry Siller and his wonderful staff who assisted Lupe through her road to recovery and provided her a comfortable life. Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing from 5p.m.-7p.m. at Brookside Funeral Home Wednesday, January 16, 2019. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church 3600 Brinkman St, Houston, TX 77018.

Committal service will follow at Brookside Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers Lupe request that a donation be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org).
