Luttie W. Rehar, 93, Sykesville, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Christ the King Manor after a lengthy illness. He was born February 5, 1925 in Bolivar, PA, the son of the late Anton & Jennie (Marincic) Rehar. He was married to Martha (Zimmerman) Rehar, who preceded him in death on February 5, 2011.

Luttie was a graduate of Sykesville High School. He was a Staff Sergeant Aerial Gunman in the US Airforce during WWII, serving with the 8th Airforce, 448th squadron. He had worked at Keystone Elec.

in the motor repair department. He was also an assistant superintendant of Highways in Jefferson County and Maintenance Management Coordinator of Highways in Jefferson County. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping.

Luttie was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Sykesville where he was an Usher for over 50 years. Luttie is survived by his three children Marian (George) Essey of Charleroi, Timothy (Melissa) Rehar of Reynoldsville and Kevin Rehar of DuBois, six grandchildren and a sister Tillie Renosky of DuBois. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by three brothers Mirko, William and Herman.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2018 from 4:30 – 7:30pm and on Friday from 9:30 – 10:30am at the Leo Nedza Funeral Home in Sykesville. Participation in Praying of the Rosary is welcome and will be on Thursday at 4pm at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11am at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Sykesville.

Military Honors will be accorded by the DuBois Area Honor Guard at the ABVM Church Cemetery. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers family suggest donations to either Penn Highlands DuBois Hospice or Christ the King Manor.
