OBITUARY Luz Bañuelos Cabral February 1, 1924 – December 15, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Luz “Lucy” Bañuelos Cabral, passed away on December 15th, 2018, at the age of 94 with her family by her side. Luz was born in Cueva Grande Valparaiso, Zacatecas, Mexico on February 1st, 1924. She is preceded in death by her husband Antonio Cabral, her sisters: Francisca Bracamontes, Josefina Alamillo and Angela Vargas.

Luz was a resident of Santa Paula for many years both working and raising her family here. Luz married Antonio Cabral and had eight (8) children. She was widowed at the age of 43 and never remarried.

Luz raised her eight (8) children on her own, which was a reflection of what a strong woman she was. Luz worked for Burpee Seeds Inc. in Santa Paula for over 23 years and retired in 1987. Luz enjoyed spending time with her large extended family at family get-togethers, barbecues, birthday parties, etc.

She loved listening to the traditional Mexican tomborazo. Luz is survived by her sons: John Cabral (Elia), Joe Cabral (Georgia), Gene “Cowboy” Cabral, her daughters: Rosa Alonzo (Ismael), Gloria Aragon (Art), Alice Galvan (Luis), Frances Bustillos (Mark), Paula Bañuelos, brother Hinijio Bañuelos (Maria), sister Eulalia Barrientos and her many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. The Cabral Family would like to thank the staff at Charter Hospice for the care provided for Luz.

The family would also like to extend their gratitude to Evangelina Moreno for assisting the family in taking excellent care of their Mother in her final days. A Rosary will be held on Thursday, December 27th at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at 427 N. Oak St., Santa Paula.
