Lydia Elizabeth Letavis September 8, 1915 – January 7, 2019 LETAVIS, Lydia Elizabeth – Of Grand Blanc, age 103, passed away Monday, January 7, 2019 at Brookdale Grand Blanc Assisted Living. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11am Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11804 South Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, Father Peter Lawrence, officiating. Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Born: September 8, 1915 Death: January 7, 2019 In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church. Visitation 4-8pm Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Scripture Service will be held 7pm Friday evening at the funeral home.

Visitation 10:30am Saturday at church until the time of the Mass. Lydia was born in Brainard, Nebraska on September 8, 1915, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Skoda. On May 17, 1947, she married Andrew Letavis at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Lydia worked on the family farm in North Dakota. She was employed with AC Spark Plug from 1941-47 and at Sarvis Food Center from 1968-80. Lydia was a former member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

She enjoyed cooking, crafts, gardening, was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and most of all enjoyed spending time with her family. Surviving are son, Thomas Letavis; daughter, Diane Sabo and husband Richard Sabo; son-in-law, Charles (Debbie) Hughes; grandchildren, Rich, Kari, Brent and Kendra; great-grandchildren, Isabella, Gabrielle, Annaliese, Nicholas, Nathan, Zack, Mya and McKenna; and many nieces, nephews and close friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Andrew, daughter, Dorothy Hughes, parents, brothers and sisters.
