Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 6, 2019 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Steve Wood officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.

Visitation 4-7 p.m. Sunday and 12 p.m. Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Mabel was born in Bay City, Michigan on December 9, 1930, the daughter of the late Joseph and Nelia (Cole) West. She graduated from Flint Central High School in 1949 and Baker Business College in 1951.

She was a member of North Baptist Church in Flint for 23 years and the Great Lakes Baptist Church for 4 years. She was also a member of Burton Senior Center, the Grand Blanc Senior Center and the Michigan Twins Association. Mabel worked for Erb Realty for 2 years before she went to Merchants & Mechanics Bank on February 28, 1954.

She was employed by NBD Bank for 37 years, retiring from NBD Bank on December 31, 1992. Surviving are her sister-in-law, Veletta Frazier of Flushing; 3 nieces, Rose Vliet of Flushing, Nancy Dalle of Shiloh, Illinois and Lori Carr of Manistee, Michigan; 2 nephews, Herman West of Flushing, Michigan and Mark Cocking; special friends, Mabel and Marilyn. She was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Bernice Cocking, Bessie West and twin sister, Marguerite West; 3 brothers, Eddie, Herman and Harold West.
