Madalene (Madge) Elizabeth Salem went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019. She was born and raised in Geneva, NY and lived most of her life there.

She moved to Chico, Ca. 11 years ago to be near two of her children, Terrence Williams (Chico), and Colleen (Williams) Bauer (Sacramento). Her oldest daughter, Lori (Williams) Saleem resides in Amherst, MA near Madge’s four grandchildren, Shanti Starr, Elijah Lagreze, Joshua Lagreze, and Chloe Grubbs-Saleem, as well as two great grandchildren, Ameera and Naima Lagreze.

Madge was formerly an Air Force wife, and traveled extensively around the United States and Europe, living in Texas, Florida, Massachusetts, New York, California, Newfoundland, and France. She was very active in her home church, St. Michael’s Syrian Orthodox in Geneva, NY where she sang in the choir for many years. Madge loved music of many genres, especially the Big Band era and performed in local theatre while living in Geneva.

While she will be deeply missed by her extended family and friends, we are all comforted by the knowledge that she in lovingly ensconced in our Lord’s arms, rejoicing in the incredible Joy of His presence.
